As of July 1st, we had 39 <\/strong>(78%)<strong> winning Top Trade Ideas against 11 that were &#8220;<em>not yet profitable<\/em>&#8221; and we were already <span style=\"color: #339966;\">up net $355,948<\/span> with <span style=\"color: #339966;\">$1,745,236 of upside potential<\/span> at the time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/10\/09\/thursday-thoughts-the-donut-shop-market-why-buffett-says-were-paying-for-40-years-up-front\/#comment-8174913\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 9th<\/a>, half of the losers had turned around and, now that we&#8217;re into our first full year, we&#8217;re cruising past $1M in profits on that set of trades, which still have another $1M left to gain by Jan, 2028 but there&#8217;s no need to chase as we&#8217;re here to review a more recent set of Top Trades &#8211; the ones from July 1st through Dec 31st of last year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, we have new trade ideas all the time for our Members. With AI infrastructure demand outpacing grid expansion, utilities with exposure to major data center regions are positioned for secular growth, yet still trade at value multiples.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Why This Works<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Secular Demand:<\/strong>\u00a0AI data centers require 4\u20136x more power than traditional facilities. Boaty and I are always kicking around trade ideas and looking for new trends and, when we establish a high degree of confidence &#8211; they end up going into our Top Trade Alerts. We reviewed several candidates and picked just one for this alert:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>So PPL it is and we will add it to the LTP as follows:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 10 PPL 2027 $35 puts for $3.15 ($3,150)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 20 PPL 2027 $30 calls for $6 ($12,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 15 PPL 2027 $40 calls for $2 ($3,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $5,850 on the $20,000+ spread so the upside potential is $14,150 (241%) and it\u2019s too early to sell short-term calls so we\u2019ll see how earnings go but very happy to double down if they miss as this is a long-term trend we can sink our teeth into.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/012726\/PPLd065409332i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a bumpy ride but we are on track with a year to go and the $35 puts are down to $1.90 ($1,900) with the $30 calls at $7.50 ($15,000) and the short $40 calls at $1.35 ($2,025) so that&#8217;s net $11,075 for <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">a gain of $5,225 (89%)<\/span><\/strong> on the $20,000 spread so there&#8217;s still <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$8,925 (80%) worth of upside potential<\/span><\/strong> by the end of the year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 14 2025 \u2013 JPM, FI and ALLY\" href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/07\/14\/philstockworld-top-trade-alert-july-14-2025-jpm-fi-and-ally\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 14 2025 \u2013 JPM, FI and ALLY<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Since we have $458,000 in CASH!!! in the LTP (up $40,218 since June \u2013 8% of $500,000), we can afford to plant a flag in JPM:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 20 JPM Dec 2027 $300 calls at $43.50 ($87,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 15 JPM Dec 2027 $350 calls at $24.50 ($36,750)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 5 JPM 2027 $270 puts at $23 ($11,500)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 7 JPM Oct $280 calls for $20.20 ($14,140)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 5 JPM Oct $280 puts at $9.60 ($4,800)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $19,810 on the $100,000+ spread with $80,190 (404%) upside potential but I\u2019d rather see JPM go LOWER at some point so we can roll our longs to lower strikes and double down or something than \u201cjust\u201d make $80,190. For another thing, consider we sold $18,940 of mostly premium using just 95 of our 886 days \u2013 that has some very exciting potential too!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/012726\/JPMd070234569i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For simplicity&#8217;s sake, we&#8217;re not going to assume a Top Trade Member did the rolls and just played the original set-up (we regularly optimize our positions in the PSW Live Member Chat Room). JPM was at $297.56 on Oct 17th (expirations) so the short $280 calls would have gotten $17.56 ($12,292) back while the short puts would have expired worthless.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As to the main spread, the $300 calls are now $47.68 ($95,360) and the short $350s are $27 ($40,500) and the short $270 puts are $25.25 ($12,625) so net $42,235 plus net $6,648 gained on the short-term premium sales is net net $48,883 for <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">a gain of $29,073 (146%)<\/span><\/strong> so far on the $100,000 spread with <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$51,117 (104%) upside potential remaining<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>So, for the LTP, let\u2019s:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 10 FI 2027 $150 puts for $15.20 ($15,200)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 20 FI 2027 $150 calls for $41 ($82,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 20 FI 2027 $190 calls for $21.75 ($43,500)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $23,300 on the $80,000 spread with $56,700 (243%) upside potential that\u2019s $35,000 in the money to start and I think we\u2019re too low in the channel to sell short-term calls but I\u2019d also like to see earnings (end of month) before selling more puts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/012726\/FISVd071323987i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s now FISV and this one has gotten worse and worse! We do still like them down here ($67.15) but that&#8217;s no help for this trade, where we could assume the short $150 puts were assigned for $150,000 and the 2027 $150 calls are now $1.56 ($3,120) and the short $190 calls are 0.78 ($1,560). As the stock is now worth $67,150 &#8211; we&#8217;re looking at a net loss of $84,410 PLUS the original $23,300 we put into the spread is <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">down $107,710 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(462%)<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Can it be salvaged? Sure &#8211; as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Liquidated the position ($67,150)\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Sell 20 2028 $70 puts for $17.25 ($34,500)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Buy 50 2028 $50 calls for $28.20 ($141,000)\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Sell 50 2028 $70 calls for $19 ($95,000)\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s net $11,500 on the $100,000 spread so we&#8217;re back in business at $70 with $55,650 in our pocket to play with while we wait. As a new trade it&#8217;s net $11,500 with <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$88,500 (769%) of upside potential<\/span><\/strong> and I&#8217;m sorry it didn&#8217;t work the first time but this time all it has to do is not go down and we make money!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Again, for the purposes of these reviews, we assume you stood like a deer in the headlights while the stock dropped and took no action. For our Members, we made adjustments and sold short calls, etc. and we avoided most of those losses &#8211; having turned the trade into a profitable income spread in our Long-Term Portfolio <\/strong>(LTP)<strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>$40.72 is $12.4Bn and last year they had $8.9Bn in revenues and made $668M (18.5x) and this year they are packing $8Bn in revenues with $1Bn (sold divisions) in profit (12.4x) and next year they expect $9.1Bn in revenues and $1.6Bn in profit (7.75x) so, for the LTP, let\u2019s:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 15 ALLY 2027 $40 puts for $5.50 ($8,250)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 25 ALLY 2027 $35 calls for $9.50 ($23,750)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 20 ALLY 2027 $47 calls for $4 ($8,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 7 ALLY Sept $40 calls for $2.55 ($1,785)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 5 ALLY Sept $40 puts for $1.85 ($925)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $4,790 on the $30,000 spread with $25,210 (526%) upside potential and we\u2019ll have a nice little short-term option-selling business on the side!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/012726\/ALLYd072927477i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>ALLY finished Sept 19th at $44.21 so we gave $4.21 ($2,947) back to the short caller for a net loss (as the puts expired worthless) of $237 for that period.\u00a0 That&#8217;s OK as we only lose money on the short callers when our longs are deeper in the money and the $40 puts are now $4.33 ($6,495) and the $35 calls are $9.60 ($24,000) and the short $47 calls are $3.20 ($6,400) so net net $10,868 is <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">up $6,078 (126%)<\/span><\/strong> on the $30,000 spread with <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$19,132 (176%) of upside potential remaining<\/span><\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Good for a new trade!<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>THAT is how they are supposed to go &#8211; nice and steady&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 18 2025 \u2013 Gilead Sciences (GILD)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/07\/18\/philstockworld-top-trade-alert-july-18-2025-gilead-sciences-gild\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 18 2025 \u2013 Gilead Sciences (GILD)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>NOW we have a trading range for the LTP:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 5 (happy to DD on a downturn) GILD Dec 2027 $90 puts at $9 ($4,500)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 15 GILD Dec 2027 $90 calls at $29 ($43,500)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 10 GILD Jan (2026) $110 calls for $8 ($8,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 10 GILD Oct $110 calls for $5.50 ($5,500)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Puts are not worth selling (Oct $105 puts are $3.50), but of course on a nice dip sell some. As it stands, net $25,500 on the $45,000 spread but your time advantage means easily double that if things go well to the upside and, if not, then you have 2.5year to sell $5,500 per quarter ($45,000 ish) not even counting short-term puts and you WILL collect at least $8,000 more premium when the 2026 short calls expire (or position at worst) so lots and lots of ways to make money and, if GILD goes down, you sell short-term puts ($2,500+ per q) and more 2027 puts ($5,000) and you use that money ($5 per long) to roll down to the $80 calls and, if lower, roll and DD and make it a 5-year recovery play.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/012726\/GILDd074003428i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Wheeee &#8211; look at them fly! GILD was at $124.91 on the 16th so the short Jan $110 calls got paid back $14,910 and we took a $6,910 loss &#8211; that&#8217;s what we get for being cautious! The Oct $110 calls similarly burned us for $7,310. Still, as I said before, we only take losses on short callers when our spread is doing well and now the $90 puts are $4.40 ($2,200) and the $90 calls are $52 ($78,000) so that&#8217;s net $61,580 for a <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$36,580 (146%) gain<\/span><\/strong> but it&#8217;s only a $45,000 spread (we had 5 uncovered calls) so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">there&#8217;s really no point in keeping this one<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 22 2025 \u2013 Lockheed Martin (LMT)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/07\/22\/philstockworld-top-trade-alert-july-22-2025-lockheed-martin-lmt\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 July 22 2025 \u2013 Lockheed Martin (LMT)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another brilliant Boaty note: &#8220;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span class=\"ql-emojiblot\" data-name=\"ship\"><span contenteditable=\"false\"><span class=\"wpd-content-em wpdem-ship\">\ud83d\udea2<\/span><\/span><\/span> Lockheed Martin (LMT) at $420: Is It a Gift After the Write-Offs?&#8221;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This is what they looked like on July 22nd:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/072225\/LMTw091818271i.png\" alt=\"comment image\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>One of our favorite things to do at PSW is identify for our Members stocks where traders completely misread the earnings report! Still, if we manage to thread the needle in Sept, we can generate another $15,000 into January and $60,000 more next year is already a $75,000 return on $3,200 and whatever upside above $450 will be a bonus!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In this case, LMT was still down at $472.94 on Sept 19th so we gave $22.94 ($16,058) back to the short caller and nothing back on the puts for a net $2,258 loss. While we obviously adjusted in our Live Member Chat Room <strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/amember\/signup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Basic and Premium Memberships<\/a><\/strong>) we assume for these reviews that no action was taken and that sucks because the 2027 $250 puts are now $93 for <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">a loss of $73 ($36,500 &#8211; 365%)<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">we do still like ORCL long-term so the &#8220;fix&#8221; would be rolling the 5 short 2027 $250 puts ($46,500) to 10 2028 $170 puts at $46.50 ($46,500), which is only $11 over the current price and $80 (32%) below our original strike<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is another nice thing about options &#8211; they will ALWAYS make more! The 2029s will come out and we&#8217;ll be able to roll to a lower strike then too! CSCO is already at $78.32 and the short $60 puts are $193 ($1,930) so <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">up $1,770 (47%)<\/span><\/strong> and, keep in mind, that&#8217;s just 4 months! What a great trade!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>HELE was $19.59 on Oct 14th and now it&#8217;s $18.76 so this is a fantastic example of how Theta (time premium) works in our favor. Almost 4 months have passed and the stock has gone nowhere but that is FINE for us because we SELL premium, we don&#8217;t buy it:<\/p>\n<p>The 2027 $15 calls are $7.20 ($3,600) and the $22.50 calls are $4 ($2,000) and that&#8217;s $1,600 so we&#8217;re <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">up $600 (60%) in four months<\/span><\/strong> and we&#8217;re $3.76 in the money and the <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">upside potential at $22.50 is $2,150 (134%)<\/span><\/strong> so plenty more to gain for an &#8220;on track&#8221; trade that&#8217;s LOWER than where we began. <strong>Tempus Fugit!<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2027 $22.50 puts are $7 so u<strong>p 0.50 ($500)<\/strong> with <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$7,000 (100%) upside potential<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And, on the big spread, we have $7 ($14,000), $9 ($45,000) for the $15 calls, $6.35 ($25,400) and the Jan $20 calls expired worthless and the Jan $20 puts expired at 0.96 ($960) so net net $6,560 is <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">up $10,260 (277%)<\/span><\/strong> and now we can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Sell 10 May $20 calls for $2.35 ($2,350)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Sell 10 May $30 puts for $3.30 ($3,300)\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That drops us to a net credit of $9,350 and it&#8217;s still a $37,500 spread so our <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">upside potential is now net $36,590 (356%)<\/span><\/strong> so a bit less than where we started and that&#8217;s because we keep putting the profits in our pockets &#8211; nothing wrong with that!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/020826\/HELEd131116261i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>And that&#8217;s on a trade that is LOWER than when we started! That&#8217;s why this strategy is so powerful &#8211; we don&#8217;t need the trade to make a big gain or even be flat to make money &#8211; a small loss is just fine too!\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 Oct 21st 2025 \u2013 Stellantis (STLA)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/10\/21\/philstockworld-top-trade-alert-oct-21st-2025-stellantis-stla\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">PhilStockWorld Top Trade Alert \u2013 Oct 21st 2025 \u2013 Stellantis (STLA)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>It\u2019s still stupidly cheap so, for the LTP, let\u2019s:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 25 2028 $10 puts for $2 ($5,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 50 2028 $10 calls for $3.35 ($16,750)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 30 2028 $17 calls for $1 ($3,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $8,750 and we\u2019re taking a chance into earnings but I\u2019m very happy to double down if the drop back to $8 and then turn it into more of an income play but, if things go well \u2013 it\u2019s a $35,000 spread with $26,250 (300%) upside potential at $17 in two years and I\u2019m sure we can also sell some puts and calls along the way.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The Jan $11 calls are $1.05 so $1 in premium to sell and we\u2019re 20 uncovered so let\u2019s say we sell 30 of those ($3,000) and 15 Jan $11 pus at 0.85 ($1,275)<\/strong> \u2013 that\u2019s $4,275 (48.8%) collected using 87 days and 8 more sales like that can be another $34,200 (390%) in premium over 2 years \u2013 not bad for a \u201csmall\u201d risk into earnings, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And now we&#8217;ll see what happens when there&#8217;s a TREMENDOUS loss as STLA just took a massive charge ($22Bn) and fell all the way to $7 before bouncing (just a bit).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind we had already committed to owning (because we sold puts) 2,500 shares at $10 and another 1,500 at $11 so $41,500 is half an allocation block ($100,000) in the LTP committed to this trade.<\/p>\n<p>The 2028 $10 puts are now $3.40 ($8,500) and the Jan $11 puts expired at $1.40 ($1,540) and the Jan calls went worthless.\u00a0 The 2028 $10 calls are $1.20 ($6,000) and the $17 calls are 0.35 ($1,050) so that&#8217;s net net -$5,090 to close it for a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">$13,840 (158%) loss.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We do still like STLA for the long term.\u00a0 For one thing, they won&#8217;t have to pay taxes for a few years! Now that\u2019s a fun trade!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>They did go vroom but then they pulled back and that&#8217;s GOOD as we sold the Feb $185 calls, which are now $1.60 ($1,120) and the Feb $180 puts are now $10 ($5,000) so a gain of net $15,330 (135%) from Dec to Feb on just the short premium sales!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Jan $180 puts are still $34 (even both times), the $150 calls are $62 ($124,000) and the $200 calls are $41.50 ($62,250) so that&#8217;s net $27,750 plus the $15,330 from the premium sales is $43,080 is <span style=\"color: #339966;\">up $31,780 (281%)<\/span> with (because $15,330 of that is in our pocket) <span style=\"color: #339966;\">$83,550 (507%) of upside potential remaining.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Going very well for a spread that&#8217;s gone nowhere &#8211; options are AMAZING!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>We&#8217;ll stop there as the rest have barely had a month to mature so it&#8217;s silly to measure them in this review. As it stands we had 3 losing trades and 17 <\/strong>(85%)<strong> winners for <span style=\"color: #339966;\">an overall gain of net $282,126 and there is $1,016,135 of upside potential<\/span> PLUS
