However, a new UN-supported report states that these previous warnings do not capture the extent of the problem. Instead, the authors of this report state that the world has now moved from the crisis phase to a more severe phase called global water bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p>Kaveh Madani is the lead author of the report entitled Global Water Bankruptcy: Living Beyond Our Hydrological Means in the Post-Crisis Era, which was produced by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccny.cuny.edu\/?srsltid=AfmBOoqqashvxvOWzgtlMXxyldnbbt64MiqrlAQ67Yu9neyb9FM7-ekM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The City College of New York<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unu.edu\/inweh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UN University\u2019s Institute for Water, Environment and Health<\/a>, which is often referred to as the UN\u2019s \u201cthink tank\u201d for water issues.
