the \u201ctell\u201d is that management was willing to lean into promos to re\u2011ignite demand.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Where the stock and fundamentals sit<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Stock is around\u00a0<strong>$183<\/strong>, down over\u00a0<strong>55% from its 52\u2011week high of $423<\/strong>, with a market cap near\u00a0<strong>$20.8B<\/strong>.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/why-lululemon-athletica-lulu-fell-143205303.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">finance.yahoo<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Trailing EPS is about\u00a0<strong>$14.6<\/strong>, so you\u2019re paying roughly\u00a0<strong>12.5x trailing earnings<\/strong>\u00a0and about\u00a0<strong>11.5\u201312.5x forward<\/strong>, versus a 10\u2011year average P\/E over 40 and a current sector average near 18\u201320.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gurufocus.com\/term\/pettm\/LULU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">gurufocus+3<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">ROE has lived in the\u00a0<strong>20\u201330%+<\/strong>\u00a0range for years with mid\u2011 to high\u2011teens net margins\u2014brand and unit economics are still elite even after a rough 2025.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heygotrade.com\/en\/market-outlook\/stock-analysis-lululemon-lulu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">heygotrade+1<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Most independent models now call it\u00a0<strong>30\u201335% undervalued<\/strong>\u00a0on reasonable growth and margin assumptions, with \u201cnegativity priced in\u201d as the core theme.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sahmcapital.com\/news\/content\/assessing-lululemons-value-after-a-558-drop-and-shifting-consumer-trends-2025-11-21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">sahmcapital+2<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Talk you out of it, or trade it?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The only real \u201ctalk you out of it\u201d points:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The U.S. business has clearly slowed; management has guided 2025 revenue growth down into the low single digits (2\u20134%) as tariffs, stale assortment, and a softer North American consumer bite.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/lululemon-athletica\/earnings\/q3-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">fortune+1<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Black Friday strength was promo\u2011driven. Great for clearing inventory and re\u2011engaging customers, but there\u2019s some risk it trains shoppers to wait for deals if they keep this cadence.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/culture\/product-recommendations\/best-lululemon-black-friday-deals-2025-1236124720\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">billboard+2<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Against that, you\u2019re getting:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">A still\u2011moaty global brand, high ROE, no balance\u2011sheet drama, and a multiple that finally assumes they\u2019re mortal.<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/simplywall.st\/stocks\/us\/consumer-durables\/nasdaq-lulu\/lululemon-athletica\/news\/is-lululemon-a-bargain-after-96-weekly-surge-and-global-expa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">simplywall+3<\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Fresh evidence that when they\u00a0<em>do<\/em>\u00a0discount aggressively, demand is absolutely there.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">So from a PSW standpoint, this is one to\u00a0<strong>make a structured trade in<\/strong>, not avoid:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Use the selloff and low\u2011teens multiple to\u00a0<strong>scale in with stock plus short puts\/calls<\/strong>\u00a0rather than chase after the next earnings print.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Treat Black Friday as confirming that the brand isn\u2019t broken\u2014just adjusting price and assortment into a tougher macro tape.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>If you\u2019ve been looking for a catalyst to finally step in, \u201cbusiest apparel store on Black Friday\u201d is about as clean as it gets.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/$s_!PQ9e!,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F1404cdf5-24a6-4f99-be05-8e61685d11bd_2740x1541.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I like LULU as it\u2019s a solid Top 10% stock and $183 is $22.7Bn but they are around $11Bn in sales with $1.5Bn in profits, so 15x(ish) is reasonable \u2013 especially as they have $1.9Bn in the bank net of debt \u2013 so call it 13.5x, really.<\/p>\n<p>That means they have plenty of cash to ride out a storm and they\u2019ve sown great ability to adjust their mix for changing market conditions. I think the harsh discounting is more of a test to decide if there\u2019s enough demand for lower-cost outfits to make it worth making shelf-space next year. Also they\u2019d want to test whether it erodes their high-end sales and Victoria\u2019s Secret has already proven you can hit both ends of the market at once (Pink).<\/p>\n<p>So we don\u2019t expect them to go \u201cvroom\u201d but I also don\u2019t expect them to go much lower so perfect for an income play.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>In the STP, let\u2019s sell 5 LULU 2027 $180 puts for $34 ($17,000). That\u2019s just net $146 if assigned (20% off).<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>In the LTP let\u2019s:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 10 LULU 2027 $180 puts for $34 ($34,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Buy 20 LULU 2028 $150 calls for $73.50 ($147,000)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 15 LULU 2028 $200 calls for $53.50 ($80,250)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 7 LULU Feb $185 calls for $19 ($13,300)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Sell 5 LULU Feb $180 puts for $16.30 ($8,150)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>That\u2019s net $11,300 on the $100,000 spread so there\u2019s $88,700 (784%) of upside potential on the long spread and we have 700 days left to sell premium so at least (8 x $21,450 =) $171,600 (1,518%) of additional upside potential on the short-selling side of the business.
