{"id":12784381,"date":"2025-02-18T08:30:34","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T13:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/?p=12784381"},"modified":"2025-03-20T07:11:36","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T11:11:36","slug":"philstockworld-february-portfolio-review-members-only-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/02\/18\/philstockworld-february-portfolio-review-members-only-2\/","title":{"rendered":"PhilStockWorld February Portfolio Review (Members Only)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/c.tenor.com\/btt6YFIkfHMAAAAC\/one-milliondollars-dr-evil.gif\" alt=\"VMware Security Certifications Protect Against More Than Just Dr. Evil -  VMware Learning\" width=\"299\" height=\"168\" \/><strong>$4,020,548!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>That was the total for our paired STP\/LTP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/01\/14\/philstockworld-january-portfolio-review-members-only-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last month<\/a> and the S&amp;P 500 was at 5,836 at the time and now 6,114 is up 278 points <\/strong>(4.7%)<strong> for the month so we&#8217;re bound to be doing better and we&#8217;ll have to wait to see how much better when we finish our LTP Review. 4.7% is great for a month but we have been over 6,000 MOST of the time since Thanksgiving but the question is: Has the rally run its course or are we gearing up for another 20% run in the first half of 2025?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12784382\" src=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"990\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025.png 990w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025-768x577.png 768w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025-150x113.png 150w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025-696x523.png 696w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-18-2025-265x198.png 265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 990px) 100vw, 990px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In August, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2024\/08\/13\/philstockworld-august-portfolio-review-members-only-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our Paired Portfolios were at $2,586,535 at S&amp;P 5,543<\/a> and we had just added a ton of new trades on the early August dip that took us down to 5,150 on the S&amp;P 500 and THAT was a dip we were happy to buy at 20% below the current prices! As I said at the beginning of that review: &#8220;<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Time to go shopping!<\/em><\/span><\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t get opportunities like that very often so you need to be prepared to pounce on them but all the pouncing in the World won&#8217;t help you if you aren&#8217;t PREPARED to take those opportunities. PATIENCE is the hardest lesson we try to teach to our new investors &#8211; keeping money (and margin) on the sideline for the real opportunities. The second hardest thing to teach is when to LET GO of those positions when they&#8217;ve run their course.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2024\/07\/16\/philstockworld-july-portfolio-review-members-only-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">As I had said in our July review<\/a>, when things were crashing down: &#8220;<em><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">This is what we expect in a \u201creal\u201d rally \u2013 eventually we should see broader participation and that\u2019s when our strategy kicks into high gear \u2013 patience does pay off and caution does too as our stocks are nowhere near as stretched as the leadership is at the moment<\/span><\/strong><\/em>.&#8221;\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12784383\" src=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1285\" height=\"755\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025.jpg 1285w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-1024x602.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-768x451.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-150x88.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-696x409.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Heat-Feb-18-2025-1068x628.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1285px) 100vw, 1285px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>There&#8217;s a great deal of uncertainty at the moment. The above chart gives us an idea of who&#8217;s been winning and who&#8217;s been losing during the current earnings season but we still have another 40% left to go but, so far, we&#8217;ve been very happy with our current trading plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Short-Term Portfolio <\/strong>(STP)<strong> Review: <\/strong>$709,792 is up 254.9% since our $200,000 start on May 16th of 2023. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/01\/14\/philstockworld-january-portfolio-review-members-only-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last month it was $710,192<\/a> so not much change and that&#8217;s fantastic as we rode out an almost 5% market pop without any real damage. Still, that&#8217;s because the VIX dropped off significantly, lowering the premium on all the short puts and calls we sold so we&#8217;ll want to take that into account looking at our adjustments this month:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12784384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1369\" height=\"1297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025.jpg 1369w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-300x284.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-1024x970.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-768x728.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-150x142.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-696x659.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/STP-Feb-18-2025-1068x1012.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1369px) 100vw, 1369px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Short Puts &#8211; Though we no longer expect it, we need to be sure we&#8217;ll be HAPPY to own these stocks at the net assignment price should the market drop 20%. I&#8217;m only going to note the ones I have concerns with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>DHI &#8211; Earnings were good and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">we&#8217;re going to move this one to the LTP and that means the LTP will buy it back for $23,200 (pumping cash into the STP) and absorb the $11,460 loss. In the LTP, we will roll the puts to 10 short DHI 2027 $150 puts at $31.50 ($31,500) and buy 20 DHI 2027 $120 calls for $32.50 ($65,000) and sell 15 DHI 2027 $170 calls for $13.50 ($20,250)<\/span><\/strong>. That&#8217;s net $44,750 on the $100,000 spread and we gave the STP $23,200 and collected $31,500 so a net credit of $8,300 there drops our net net on the spread down to $36,450 with <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">$63,550 (174%) of upside potential<\/span><\/strong> PLUS an opening to sell short-term calls down the road.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/DHId072582385i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>So we absorbed the loss in the STP. It would have been nice to have a win and pocket the original $11,740 we collected but that didn&#8217;t happen yet the point of selling the short puts was also to keep an eye on DHI and it got cheaper despite decent earnings so our original premise of wanting to own it for net $133.26 has played out. We don&#8217;t own long-term, expensive stocks in the STP &#8211; that&#8217;s what the LTP is for so we simply replenish the STP money and the LTP recoups that expense by selling more puts at net $118.50 PLUS the $23.20 we paid to the STP is net net $141.70 for the short puts in the LTP &#8211; not bad at all considering&#8230;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>NKE &#8211; Earnings are coming so we&#8217;ll see. We already have it in the LTP so this will be a stand-alone decision.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>TROX &#8211; Down and down it goes! Earnings were a big miss but not very expensive so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">let&#8217;s roll the 30 $12 puts ($13,500) to 50 of the Dec $10 puts at $3 ($15,000)<\/span><\/strong>. We had committed to own 3,000 at net $9 ($27,000 &#8211; $9\/share) and now we&#8217;re committed to owning 5,000 at net ($50,000 &#8211; $9,000 &#8211; $1,500 =) $39,500, which is net net $7.90\/share, which is the current price.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/TROXd074820629i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>BBY &#8211; Earnings (3\/4) should push them higher but we&#8217;re not too bearish: We have 75 long 2027 $82.50 calls and the short 2027 $110s (40) and $120s (50) are miles out of the money and the short March $92.50s are all premium with 2 years to roll so wait and see, I guess.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/BBYd075295957i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>CPER &#8211; Our plan was to sell more calls so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">let&#8217;s do that and sell 10 July $29s for $2 ($2,000)<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/CPERd075411284i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>SKX &#8211; They took a huge dive on a small earnings miss so great for us. This trade is in the STP BECAUSE it moves violently and we expected to make frequent adjustments. As it&#8217;s been a great winner, let&#8217;s add more so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">let&#8217;s roll the 20 2026 $55 calls ($30,200) to 40 2027 $60 calls at $16 ($64,000) and we&#8217;ll sell 20 2027 $80 calls at $7 ($14,000) and we&#8217;ll sell 10 2027 $60 puts for $7.50 ($7,500)<\/span><\/strong> so all that was just net $12,300 and now we have $40,000 at $70 vs $30,000 before but another $40,000 at $80 &#8211; if we get so lucky and more time to be right and more time to sell short calls.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/SKXd080658286i.png\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>SQQQ &#8211; A 20% drop in QQQ would be a 60% pop to SQQQ so $26.59 x 1.6 = $42.54 and that would be $300,000 on the first 300 and $600,000 on the second is $900,000 less the current net $159,000 means we have $441,000 worth of downside protection on these. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">It&#8217;s just too cheap (net $52,500) to roll the short $30 calls up to the short $40 calls and net $347,500 more protection &#8211; so let&#8217;s do that and sell 200 March $27 calls at $1.55 ($31,000) to begin to pay for that roll<\/span><\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Overall that&#8217;s net $788,500 of downside protection<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/SQQQd081390377i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note that the reason I&#8217;m willing to spend $52,000 to buy $300,000 more protection is BECAUSE I know I can make that money back selling short-term calls and selling 200 <\/strong>(1\/3)<strong> that are ALL premium for 31 days is not likely to hurt us so why not start now?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>TZA &#8211; We have 1,200 long $10s that are $240,000 in the money. 1.6 x $12.18 is $19.48 so we can disregard the short Jan $45 calls and that leaves us with 500 short Jan $25 calls and 200 short Jan $10 calls and 400 short April $12 calls. We&#8217;ll roll the April calls if we have to (they are up nicely at the moment) but <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I&#8217;ll feel better buying back the 500 short Jan $25 calls for $37,500<\/span><\/strong> as it&#8217;s a cheap way to leave enough open to roll our shorter-term calls if we do get in trouble.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Now we have 1,200 long $10s and 200 short Jan $10s ($3.11) and the 2027 $15s are $3.30 so I&#8217;d count that as a $5 spread on a roll (and we could 2x) and the short April calls are $1.17, so we could roll those to 2027 $20s ($2) easily so we&#8217;ve got a good $10 of headroom x 1,200 is $1,200,000 and the current net (after spending $37,500) is $271,500 so we have <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">$928,500 worth of downside protection.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/021825\/TZAd081665566i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Well, I just spent $59,000 to bump our hedges up to net $1,717,000 of downside protection against a 20% drop and, HOPEFULLY, that makes us comfortable enough to hold onto our longs, so they can make us some more money going forward.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>$700\/Month Portfolio Review:<\/strong> As usual, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/02\/11\/how-to-become-a-millionaire-by-investing-700-per-month-part-30-360\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">we did this review last week<\/a> (11th) and we only made one change but we were so far below it didn&#8217;t trigger as TRVG dropped too fast that morning &#8211; so it&#8217;s the same as we left it and we&#8217;ll see how February goes:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3mjb9ojo74ap1.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SPX-Feb-11-2025.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Money Talk Portfolio Review:<\/strong> Also untouched as we only adjust the MTP when we&#8217;re on the show (next month) and we restarted the MTP on Aug 21st of last year and we&#8217;ve made steady progress for the month in our untouched positions: Rising from $108,048 to $114,627 (up 14.6% overall) in 30 days. That&#8217;s actually fantastic as we only have $30,121 worth of actual positions and the rest is CASH!!! as we only add a couple of positions per quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It may be a slow build but the last MTP ended up just under 400% in 4 years &#8211; so stay tuned!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12784419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1367\" height=\"1238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025.jpg 1367w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-1024x927.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-768x696.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-150x136.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-696x630.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTP-Feb-18-2025-1068x967.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1367px) 100vw, 1367px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The trick to setting up an ultra low-touch portfolio like this one is very strong diversity of positions and what we like to call &#8220;<em>bullet-proof<\/em>&#8221; positions &#8211; ones we feel we can count on in almost any sort of economic conditions. Another trick is not to over-commit early on. LMT fell from $479 to $426 &#8211; down about 10% and our position fell from net $2,310 to negative $2,755 &#8211; a $5,065 downturn but it&#8217;s only 3 contracts &#8211; so we&#8217;ll be able to lock in a better position next month and, hopefully, turn it into an income-producing play.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Butterfly Portfolio Review:<\/strong> $1,042,984 is <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">up a lovely $135,529 (14.9%)<\/span><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstockworld.com\/2025\/01\/14\/philstockworld-january-portfolio-review-members-only-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">since our last review<\/a> and that&#8217;s from a combination of a slowly rising market and a quickly declining VIX &#8211; which lowers the premium of all the puts and calls we sold and this portfolio is ALL ABOUT selling puts and calls!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We added 3 new trades in the past month, which is a lot for this portfolio, which is very low-touch. Once we get rid of the short March calls, we will work off the rest of the short $110s. Solar is tricky under Trump but the economics work and companies will succeed without subsidies. As they took a nice dip and I like them so much, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">let&#8217;s sell 10 Sept $14 puts for $1.35 ($1,350)<\/span><\/strong> so our worst case is buying another 1,000 shares at net $12.65 (9% discount).\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/CIMd140569501i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>PFE &#8211; I don&#8217;t know why we didn&#8217;t sell short puts but that&#8217;s easy to fix. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Let&#8217;s sell 30 2027 $27 puts for $4.20 ($12,600) and, as we are net $36,950 on the $70,000 bull call spread that&#8217;s mostly in the money, let&#8217;s sell 30 June $26 calls for $1.35 ($4,050)<\/span><\/strong> which puts money in our pocked and hedges our unrealized gains.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/PFEd140943506i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>We sold 120 of our 694 days and we have PLENTY of upside potential <\/strong>($33,050)<strong> to cover any losses on the short calls which, of course, we can roll along and, &#8220;worst case&#8221; &#8211; we&#8217;re happy to buy more PFE longs as well. Almost a can&#8217;t lose and 5 x $4,050 is another potential $20,250 against what is now a net <\/strong>($36,950 &#8211; $12,600 &#8211; $4,050 =)<strong> $20,300 spread so 100% additional profit potential from the short calls while we wait for what is now $49,700 <\/strong>(244%)<strong> of upside potential from the spread.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You can certainly see how these small, sensitive adjustments along the way can really maximize our profit potential. We started with a conservative spread, that did well and now we get a little more aggressive selling puts and a little more conservative hedging with short calls &#8211; which also produce a nice income: Win, Win, WIN!!!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The spread HAD a $33,050 upside potential and we took $16,650 off the table and now we have $70,000 of remaining potential <\/strong>(from the lowered basis and our plan to sell short-term calls)<strong>. And we made these adjustments 3 months AFTER initiating the bull call spread &#8211; AFTER getting a look at the new earnings report.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>BXMT &#8211; On track and just paid a nice dividend.<\/li>\n<li>CMBT &#8211; On track and just paid a nice dividend.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>FLG &#8211; On track but no dividend (0.01).<\/li>\n<li>NLY &#8211; On track and just paid a nice dividend.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>CROX &#8211; Over our target on great earnings. The key to our success here is we sold March $100 calls against our 2027 $80s so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">now we get to roll the 50 short March $100s at $9.65 ($48,250) to June $110 calls at $10.75 ($53,750)<\/span><\/strong> so we pocket net $5,500 and pick up $50,000 worth of additional potential gains at $110+ AND push the short calls back to 100% premium. That&#8217;s a good roll!\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/CROXd142260074i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Once again: Small, sensible adjustments along the way can drastically increase your profit potential and, if $110 fails &#8211; we can always sell more March short calls.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>INTC &#8211; So we have 50 of the 2027 $17\/30 spreads and 50 Dec 2026 $25s covering 10 short Dec $45s (dead), 25 short Dec $30s and 40 short Jan $25s and 30 short March $25s and it&#8217;s all fine as long as we don&#8217;t pop $30 &#8211; so we&#8217;ll just have to keep an eye on them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/INTCd143587883i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>JACK &#8211; On track.<\/li>\n<li>KO &#8211; Over target and we&#8217;re burned on the short $62.50 calls so <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">let&#8217;s roll the 60 2027 $55 calls ($100,950) up to 100 2027 $65 calls at $9.50 ($95,500) and we&#8217;ll roll the 30 short Feb $62.50 calls ($21,750) and 30 (half) of the short 2027 $67.50 calls ($26,100) to 60 short June $67.50 calls at $4.20 ($25,200)<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 That&#8217;s net $17,200 well spent on what is now a $100,000 spread at $75 (was $75,000 at $67.50) with much better income potential.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/KOd144799131i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>PFE (again) &#8211; This one is right on track.<\/li>\n<li>SOFI &#8211; At goal and we&#8217;ll just have to watch and wait.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>T &#8211; Another one that popped in our favor. <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Our main $50,000 bull call spread is net $46,500 so let&#8217;s cash that out and switch to 150 2027 $22 ($5.50)\/27 ($2.95) bull call spreads at net $2.55 ($38,250) and we&#8217;ll roll our 40 short July $22 calls ($17,400) to 60 short July $25 calls at $2.05 ($13,300)<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 So we&#8217;re still $5 in the money ($75,000) on our spread that was $46,500 and we took $4,150 off the table &#8211; nice adjustment!\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/publish.finviz.com\/022025\/Td145142837i.png\" alt=\"Finviz Chart\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Those new T spreads are a fantastic deal, by the way!<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>UNG &#8211; We&#8217;re a bit burned on the short April $19s but UNG is so volatile and we&#8217;re well-covered so let&#8217;s wait and see.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>UPS &#8211; Not working so far but recovering. That is not our combined total with the STP &#8211; that is the standalone of the LTP as of Friday, Feb 21st at 2pm. I&#8217;m way behind and won&#8217;t finish but, fortunately, there&#8217;s not much urgent as we did our adjustments last week and this week&#8217;s pullback has us back where we started from last month which is, of course, perfect for our options-selling strategies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We started this review with the Short-Term Portfolio on Tuesday morning and it was at $710,192 at the time and I haven&#8217;t even had a chance to log our changes yet but it&#8217;s already (the exact same positions we had Tuesday) at $819,582 &#8211; up $109,390 in a few days as the market takes a dip, but much more than that with our new hedges.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So we gained money in the STP and we gained money in the LTP &#8211; that&#8217;s a pretty good week\/month! For now, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I want to cash out the 60 2026 $170 calls ($600,000) and buy 80 more of the 2027 $240 ($54.60)\/$290 ($29.25) bull call spreads<\/span><\/strong> for a total of 200 and then we&#8217;ll see how things work out.
